Hello

When I was younger I enjoyed pretending to be a doctor. I wanted to be like my mother and help people. As I got older I started thinking about different careers. First I thought I wanted to be an architect and build buildings because Legos were my favorite thing. Then I wanted to be a lawyer because I really enjoyed debating with my friends. Then I wanted to be a doctor again because it went back to my true love of helping people. Through this whole process, I realized that I didn’t really know much about any of the careers I was considering. I knew what I had learned from TV shows but that was not enough to allow me to make decisions about the job I thought I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I found, after surveying a group of middle school students, that others were having this same problem. As I began refining my own career objectives, gaining an understanding of what a potential career might be like directly from a professional already in that field was particularly helpful. Since not everyone has access to this opportunity, I created this site to bring professionals directly to students exploring career options. This allows them to gain valuable perspectives from those who have already chosen a profession in a field that may be of interest and to learn about their journeys.
