People come to real estate from all different avenues. There are many different types of realtors for different types of property: commercial, residential, buying agent, dual agent, and more. Generally, realtors concentrate on either commercial or residential property; some focus solely on just one side of the transaction representing only buyers or sellers. Realtors can work on their own or in a group to buy, sell, or rent property.
Realtor hours tend to vary and a realtor needs to be flexible to secure clients. Most residential realtors work weekends. In all cases, there are a few general steps required to be licensed in real estate.
Step 1: Understand and Complete your state's requirements
Step 2: Complete the required educational courses
Step 3: Take Licensing Exam
An undergraduate degree is not required. Specific real estate courses and licensing are required.
